The name of this organization shall be "The Church of New Enchantment," hereafter referred to as the Church.

ARTICLE II - PURPOSE

The purpose of the Church is to provide a spiritual community for Liberated Christians or those drawn to Liberated Christian beliefs and to promote the teachings and principles of Christianity and Liberated Christianity in a mutually supportive and harmonious way. The Church operates as a virtual-based church and offers spiritual counseling services. The Church also works with advocacy towards our unique system of beliefs and protects the anonymity of our members.

The Church of New Enchantment is a nondenominational Christian Independent New Thought organization. As a nondenominational church, we embrace individuals from diverse religious backgrounds and beliefs, fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment. We recognize and celebrate the inherent worth and dignity of every person, encouraging spiritual exploration and personal growth. Drawing inspiration from various spiritual traditions and the teachings of New Thought philosophy, we seek to empower individuals to awaken their divine potential and manifest their highest good.

ARTICLE III - MEMBERSHIP

Section 1. Membership shall be open to all persons who share the beliefs and principles of the Church.

Section 2. Membership shall be granted upon completion of a membership application and approval by the Church Council. All members shall remain anonymous, and their privacy shall be protected by the Church.

Section 3. Membership shall be terminated by written resignation or by a two-thirds vote of the Church Council for conduct contrary to the Church’s beliefs and principles.

ARTICLE IV - OFFICERS

Section 1. The officers of the Church shall be a Lead Minister, Vice-Lead Minister, Secretary, and Treasurer.

Section 2. The Lead Minister shall be Dr. Peter Sousa.

Section 3. The Vice-Lead Minister, Secretary, and Treasurer shall be elected by the Church Council.

Section 4. The term of office for officers shall be two years.

ARTICLE V - CHURCH COUNCIL

Section 1. The Church Council shall consist of the Lead Minister, Vice-Lead Minister, Secretary, Treasurer, and three members elected by the membership.

Section 2. The Church Council shall be responsible for the management and direction of the Church.

Section 3. The Church Council shall meet at least once per quarter and at such other times as deemed necessary.

Section 4. The Church Council shall make decisions by majority vote, except where otherwise provided in these bylaws.

ARTICLE VI - MEETINGS

Section 1. Regular services of the Church shall be held virtually on [insert day(s) and time(s) here)].

Section 2. Special services or meetings may be held at the discretion of the Lead Minister or Church Council.

Section 3. Special meetings of the Church membership may be called by the Church Council or by written petition of 10% of the membership.

Section 4. Notice of all meetings shall be given to the membership at least two weeks in advance.

ARTICLE VII - FINANCES

Section 1. The Church shall be supported by voluntary contributions of its members and friends.

Section 2. The Treasurer shall keep accurate records of all financial transactions and shall present a report at each Church Council meeting and annual membership meeting.

Section 3. The Church Council shall prepare an annual budget for approval by the membership at the annual membership meeting.

ARTICLE VIII - AMENDMENTS

Section 1. These bylaws may be amended by a two-thirds vote of the Church Council.

Section 2. Notice of proposed amendments shall be given to the membership at least two weeks in advance of the Church Council meeting at which the amendments will be considered.

These bylaws may be amended at any time to meet the needs of the Church, provided that such amendments are in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
